On November 30 the resort will unveil its Gingerbread Lounge against the backdrop of the Pacific, showcasing a 7-by-7-foot gingerbread masterpiece where visitors can savor seasonal treats and enjoy live music. The grand Tree Lighting Ceremony will illuminate Southern California’s coastline with a majestic 30-foot tree complemented by caroling, dance performances and whimsical photo ops with Santa. Guests seeking tranquility can unwind during the Silent Night meditation session at the resort’s oceanfront spa. The Winter Solstice Hike promises panoramic ocean vistas along a scenic trail, and guests can craft succulent wreaths, enjoy a cozy Beach Cove movie night and partake in festive activities at the Kids Club. Terranea Gingerbread Lounge in the Lobby Lounge
Saturday, November 30, to Friday, January 3; weekdays from 4 to 10 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays from 2 to 10 p.m.
On Saturday, November 30, at 2 p.m., Terranea Resort will unveil its enchanting Gingerbread Lounge — a festive holiday pop-up located in the resort’s Mediterranean-style Lobby Lounge. This stunning 7-by-7-foot gingerbread masterpiece, adorned with gumdrops, candy canes and royal icing, boasts a functional bar and a whimsical gingerbread village, crafted from over 1,000 pounds of house-made gingerbread. Guests can indulge in signature holiday cocktails, non-alcoholic favorites like hot chocolate and apple cider and a selection of sweet treats including ginger snaps, peppermint bites, gingerbread people and chocolate crinkles, all created by Chef Jermonti and his skilled team. Children are invited to pen letters to Santa and enjoy complimentary cookies while live music fills the Lobby daily from 7 to 11 p.m. adding to the festive ambiance.
Magical Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at Terranea’s Front Drive
Saturday, November 30, from 4:30 to 7 p.m.
Terranea Resort welcomes guests from near and far along with the Palos Verdes community to kick off the holiday season with its dazzling oceanfront celebration. The festivities offer complimentary admission to the grand lighting of a magnificent 30-foot holiday tree topped with a shimmering star. Entertainment will include caroling and dance performances by local arts groups, creating a festive atmosphere. Families can capture magical memories with photos of children enjoying a sleigh ride alongside Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Guests of all ages are invited to send personalized postcards to Santa’s Workshop at the North Pole. For at-home holiday fun, Terranea offers its popular Gingerbread House Decorating Kit complete with frosting, candies and more. Hot chocolate and apple cider stations will keep guests cozy while gingerbread cookie decorating adds to the merriment. Silent Night at The Spa’s Movement Studio

Winter Solstice Hike
Saturday, December 21, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Hikers will gather outside pointe discovery on the day of the winter solstice to embark on a 4-mile guided trek along the scenic Alta Vicente Trail, concluding at the historic Point Vicente Lighthouse. This special solstice hike offers a perfect blend of adventure and stunning, panoramic Pacific views, an ideal way to observe the shortest day of the year while connecting with nature.

Succulent Wreath Workshop
December 21, 22 and 23 from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
Guests are invited to craft their own festive and unique succulent wreaths, perfect for holiday decorating. Beach Cove Movie Night

At Terranea’s Beach Cove, families can relax in cozy Adirondack chairs wrapped in blankets and warmed by heaters while enjoying a complimentary screening of the holiday classic “Elf” (rated PG-13) against a stunning ocean backdrop. Complimentary popcorn will be provided with additional candy and soft drinks available for purchase, creating a perfect evening of festive family fun by the sea.

Festive Fun at Terranea’s Kids Club
Throughout December during the day and on Sunday, December 31, from 6:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Throughout December, Terranea Resort’s youngest guests are invited to join the festive fun at the resort’s Kids Club. Tailored for children ages 4 to 12, holiday-themed activities include ornament decorating and other seasonal arts and crafts. For the special Kids Club New Year’s Eve celebration, children ages 3 to 12 can enjoy an exciting evening featuring a special dinner, bounce house, double-feature movie and a kid-sized countdown to 2025 while their parents celebrate the New Year in style.
