BLUE MOUNTAIN RESORT WINS ONE OF FOUR TOP SPOT AWARDS FOR ITS WINTERFEST RAIL JAM EVENT
HONORED BY 2023 TERRAIN PARK CONTEST SPONSERED BY SKI AREA MANAGEMENT MAGAZINE
PALMERTON, Penn. — Blue Mountain Resort was awarded the top spot in the Events Category for its Winterfest Rail Jam terrain park installation in the 17th annual Ski Area Management Magazine (SAM) Terrain Park Contest. More than 3,500 votes, the most ever, were cast in the competition where a total of 69 resort-submitted entries from ski areas around the country competed in categories such as features, events, edits, and park crew.
“We are so proud of our team of ski professionals at Blue Mountain Resort. They were successful in a highly competitive field including terrain parks and resorts from Vermont, Pennsylvania, Colorado, California, New Hampshire, Utah, Oregon and Washington,” said Jim Dailey, general manager of the resort. “Our crew is creative, skilled, hard-working and dedicated to the mission of continuing to make Blue Mountain one of the primo ski resorts in the U.S.”
All winners will receive a prize package from contest sponsor Prinoth and priceless bragging rights. And, for the most votes overall in multiple categories, Blue Mountain Resort will receive an all-inclusive registration to SAM’s annual Cutter’s Camp.
“It’s exciting to see the number of votes this year — it shows the abundance of passion and pride these terrain park professionals have in their work and the respect they have for their peers,” said SAM publisher Olivia Rowan. “We congratulate the winners, and we hope the annual Terrain Park Contest inspires mountain resort professionals to continue pushing what is possible in their parks, whether they are building for the smallest groms, top athletes and everyone in between.”
A selection of the entries were shared in the November 2023 issue of SAM, and all were posted on saminfo.com, where the public was able to vote for their favorite in each category throughout November and December.
