Seven “Home-Grown Texas” Performances Presented in Partnership with Sun Radio

Carter Creek Winery Resort & Spa announces it will host in collaboration with non-profit Sun Radio (100.1FM Austin/1060 AM-HD; 99.9FM San Marcos; 103.1FM Dripping Springs; 106.9FM Fredericksburg; 88.9FM Johnson City; 88.1FM Gonzales; 104.1 Mason) seven consecutive Saturday night concerts, with complimentary admission, as the next installment of its Sun & Vine Music Series — bringing some of the best acts from Central Texas to Texas Hill Country. The home-grown talent roster will be on stage at the resort from August 19 through September 30.

“We are excited to present seven more concerts in our highly successful Sun & Vine Music Series,” said Matt Kleefisch, general manager for the winery resort. “Our guests and the local community really appreciate these events and the talented musicians who perform here at Carter Creek Winery.”

Concerts will be held in the resort’s central Pavilion and will take place select Saturdays from 5 to 7 p.m. Tickets are free, but attendees are encouraged to donate to not-for-profit Sun Radio and their efforts to help support and preserve the heritage of Texas music with a minimal impact to the environment.

Sun & Vine Music Series at upcoming Carter Creek Winery Resort & Spa schedule:

  • Saturday, August 19 — Carolyn Wonderland & Shelley King. Carolyn Wonderland reaches into the depths of Texas blues tradition — a legend across Austin and the state of Texas. Award-winning Shelley King is considered a musical ambassador for Austin — known for her blend of original blues, rock, folk, country soul and gospel.
  • Saturday, August 26 — Beat Root Revival. This multi-instrumentalist roots duo — Ben Jones and Andrea Magee — are originally from England and Ireland and have now made Austin their adoptive home. Their performances mix elements of folk, blues, country and rock ‘n roll.
  • Saturday, September 2 — The South Austin Moonlighters. Roots and Americana band with newest album “From Here To Home” started in 2011 and is from Austin. Everyone in the band sings, writes songs and takes turns leading and singing harmonies.
  • Saturday, September 9 — Warren Hood. Austin-bred Warren Hood started playing classical violin when he was 11 and now plays with The Warren Hood Band featuring a mix of their own songs, classic country and blues with a nod to Hood’s Texas roots.
  • Saturday, September 16 — Guy Forsyth. Austin-based singer, storyteller and songwriter, Forsyth is a modern-day American songster — singing his own songs with his own award-winning blues band, but also incorporating elements of rock, R&B, folk, jazz and pop.
  • Saturday, September 23 — Del Castillo. Uniting music lovers of all ages, creeds and colors, the brothers Del Castillo perform original music blending rock, Latin, blues and world music and have become one of the most recognized Austin bands.
  • Saturday, September 30 — Jaret Ray Reddick. With deep country roots, Jaret Ray Reddick is a singer, songwriter and composer for himself and the rock band Bowling for Soup. His debut album “Just Woke Up” is a love letter to Texas.

Carter Creek, located in the heart of spectacular Texas Hill Country, is the only resort in the region that produces award-winning wines and its own hand-crafted beers. It is an enjoyable spot for concertgoers to stay in one of the resort’s 78 luxurious villas for a getaway Saturday night or weekend. Music enthusiasts attending the Sun & Vine Music Series are invited to dine at the resort’s Old 290 Brewery & Restaurant — sitting outside to enjoy the concert and Texas-inspired cuisine. Or they can grab to-go fare from JC Smokehouse and relax on Carter Creek’s expansive Pavilion lawn to appreciate stellar musical entertainment.
