LET IT SNOW! CAMELBACK RESORT STARTS ITS WINTER SEASON THANKSGIVING WEEKEND
Snow Season Begins with Snowtubing then Skiing Complete with New Food Trucks, New Sunbowl Lift and New Ski & Ride Academy
Nestled in the spectacularly scenic Pocono Mountains, Camelback Resort will launch its winter season Thanksgiving weekend with new and traditional snow activities along with suite accommodations at Camelback Lodge, the only ski-in/ski-out resort in the Poconos. For snow enthusiasts, boarders and avid skiers of all levels, Camelback Mountain is a playland for locals and destination fun-seekers and only 90 minutes from New York City and two hours from Philadelphia.
“We are very excited about this year’s winter season,” said Shawn Hauver, managing director of the 560-acre resort. “We have so many new elements from exciting dining concepts like Bavarian-style food and fun food trucks to enhanced ski instruction and a new ski lift — all while keeping up with the very important COVID-19 safety guidelines.”
Camelback’s Snowtubing Park Slated to Open Friday, November 27
The biggest snowtubing park in the U.S. features all-lit nighttime Galactic tubing complete with music and disco lighting, up to 42 lightning fast lanes and two magic carpet lifts. New features include a soup and sandwich-themed food truck hitched to a Tap Bar draft beverage trailer to be enjoyed around fire pits for spectating or warming up pre or post tubing. Offerings include hot roast pork and prime dip sandwiches, bread bowl chili and chowder, beers and wines on tap, spiked hot cider, mixed cocktails and specialty coffee drinks.
Snowtubing starts at $33 midweek; $42 weekends (two-hour session).
New Sunbowl Lift and Tacos & Beers Truck
Ski trails will open with a good snowfall, and new this year is the quad Sunbowl Lift to zoom skiers and snowboarders across the mountain to Camelback Mountain Village where guests can enjoy various experiences, including a new Tacos & Beers truck for street tacos and draft beers.
Adding to its collection of over 1,200 snowmaking guns, Camelback has added 377 new HKD snow guns. Ski slopes cover 166 acres — highlighted by 39 named trails with beginner, intermediate, advanced and expert trail classifications — the longest run being one mile. All the action can be viewed on live resort webcams, and trail and conditions are updated on SkiCamelback.com.
Ski lift tickets start at $60 midweek; $78 weekends (reduced pricing for youth and seniors).
