New Interiors, Menus and Chef’s Garden Capture Wine Country Appeal

The Grill, the indoor and alfresco signature restaurant at Silverado Resort and Spa — a luxury resort in the heart of Napa Valley, Calif., — has emerged with a fresh look, inspired new menus and a verdant chef’s garden.

The Grill’s new seasonally inspired menu — created by Executive Chef Patrick Prager, Chef de Cuisine Pablo Jacinto and Pastry Chef Devon Pritchard — is now ingredient-driven with homegrown flavors, making ample use of the resort’s new onsite garden as well as ultra-fresh produce from area markets, including pea shoots, asparagus, morels and more.

Under the expert direction of Prager, the restaurant will serve the freshest, locally sourced California-style cuisine with new highlights including whole Mediterranean Branzino with pistachio pesto, olives and Camanche Creek cherry tomatoes; Fulton Valley Farms chicken with mole verde, micro cilantro, queso fresco, radish and pepita; a vibrant Farmer’s market salad with fresh local vegetables and appetizers such as Fried artichokes from nearby Castroville. Many of the resort’s signature cocktails are also created with pungent handpicked garden ingredients, among them Strawberry Mule with Elyx Vodka, strawberry, lime agave and ginger; Peach & Ginger crafted from bourbon, peach, ginger, lemon and mint; and Grapefruit Thyme made of vodka, passionfruit, blood orange, rose, grapefruit oleo, habanero, thyme, lime and egg whites.

The restaurant’s interiors have been freshened up along with its menus. Now sporting a crisp contemporary look with bright white wood millwork and textured green carpeting tying into the lush golf course greens, the reinvented venue offers a bright and airy space to enjoy Prager’s tantalizing new menus. Additional highlights include dark wood accents, angular iron and glass light fixtures — offering a modern take on traditional chandeliers — and a spacious new bar area, an ideal spot to indulge in refreshing craft cocktails.

With a keen focus on sustainability, the resort’s much anticipated new 6,000-square-foot chef’s bountiful garden debuted in June with the freshest seasonal produce from aromatic herbs to heirloom tomatoes and citrus to pollinator friendly edible flowers. Sustainable elements of the new garden include an ambitious composting program processing over five gallons of food waste per week and a custom irrigation program.

Winemaker Dinners

Further showcasing the region’s abundant natural bounty, The Grill is hosting a series of winemaker dinners by local wineries on select Thursdays through November. The dinners are served in the Royal Oak private dining room overlooking the resort’s spectacular golf greens and Napa’s rolling hills. Each featured winery — among them Silverado Vineyards, Hess Collection and Trinchero Family Estates — will send a winemaker to its special dinner to interact with guests and share pairing knowledge.

An OpenTable Diners’ Choice Award winner for 2023, The Grill offers indoor and outdoor seating daily. Hours are from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. with breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. weekdays and brunch served from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Reservations are available through OpenTable.com.
